The Benefits Of Running

Because I am running I decided to look up all of the benefits of running and put them here to inspire myself to keep running. If you also get inspired to run make sure to be safe and carry water with you, or at least try to run somewhere where you know you'll have easy access to water. Remember to either run with a friend or to let people know where you are going. Also dress appropriately, especially if you are running somewhere where the temperatures are high so that you won't risk getting heatstroke or hyperthermia.

.) Running helps your heart get stronger because once your legs hit the ground they begin to squeeze blood towards your heart which then forces your heart to pump blood back. Thus, the faster you run, the harder your heart has to work, and the stronger your heart will get.
.) By strengthening your heart and helping the arteries retain their elasticity, your chances of suffering a heart attack are significantly lowered.
.) Running also helps you prevent getting heart diseases, strokes, and diabetes because it lowers blood pressure, raises the good cholesterol, and boosts your immune system.
.) Because your immune system is stronger your risks of catching colds or other viruses are lessened.
.) Running will also lower the chances of developing blood clots.

.) Running helps lower your risks of getting osteoarthritis which is the most common type of arthritis. This is because the second biggest factor in getting osteoarthritis is body weight; a National Health and Nutrition Examination survey found that obese women have nearly four times the risk of getting knee osteoarthritis than non-obese women (for men it is five times the risk). Because runners are more likely to be at a normal weight, for them the menace of getting this disease is much lower. Another reason that running decreases the risk of getting this disease is that it fortifies your cartilage by increasing oxygen flow, flushing out toxins, and by strengthening your joints. This will also prevent your bones from getting other bone diseases such as osteoporosis.

.) Running aids you in feeling less stressed and anxious.
.) Instead,  it actually makes you happier and lifts your mood.
.) It also boosts your confidence and self-esteem.
.) In fact, running is often used by mental health experts to help treat clinical depression and other psychological disorders such as addictions.
.) Eventually, it might restructure your brain by making it calmer and more stress resistant.
.) Which will end up giving you a natural glow.

.) Regular exercise helps reduce the risk of many cancers which includes breast and lung cancer.

.) It helps improve your sleep quality.

.) And, as weird as it sounds running can help battle fatigue by increasing energy. This is done by helping the heart and lungs become more efficient at collecting and distributing oxygen throughout the body, which in turn boosts endurance and reduces fatigue. Running will additionally increase the levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain (such as dopamine and serotonin) that can have an effect on mood and energy.

.) Running can even prevent vision loss because it reduces the risk of age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.

.) It improves coordination, flexibility, joint stiffness and muscle control which lowers the risk of movement limitations.

.) It betters your overall brain functions by enhancing your attention, concentration, planning, and organizing.
.) In due course, this will help defeat age-related mental decline.

.) Ultimately, researchers have concluded that running helps you live longer because it reduces both disability and risk of death by increasing cardio fitness, increasing bone mass, lowering inflammation, improving response to vaccinations, and enhancing thinking, learning, and memory functions.
